"Henry Ackner of Poestenkill Dies in Hospital.
Henry Ackner, a highly respected citizen of the town of Poestenkill, died at the Troy Hospital, Monday morning after three months illness. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, of Taborton, and was employed as a driver of a truck for Mr. Strohe.
The survivors include his wife, formerly Myrtle Gottschalk; five children, William, Margaret, Mildred, Donald, and Virginia Ackner; his mother, six sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral services were held from his late residence Thursday afternoon at 1:30 O'clock, thence to the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Taborton at 2:30 O'Clock. Rev. Oscar Egli officiated and the church was filled.
Jesse Vars sang "The Old Rugged Cross", "Abide With Me", and "Goodnight Here".
Bearers were Elmer Miller, Percy Horton, William Adams, Clarence Bailey, Clarence Horton, and Lloyd French. Military services were conducted at the grave in the Taborton cemetery. Willis D. Larkin of Sand Lake, had charge of the funeral."
