Arthur A. Jayne
Funeral services for Arthur A. Jayne of Chicago Highlands who died in St. Joseph hospital Elgin last Sunday, were held at the Baptist church here yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H.L. Buthman officiated in the absence of Rev. C.A. Nissen, the regular pastor. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery with Masonic rites. Mr. Jayne had been suffering with an affliction of the heart for several months.
Mr. Jayne was a native of Barrington and one of the pioneer settlers of northern Illinois. He was born September 29, 1867 and married Katherine Patzke of Chicago April 18, 1900. In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sisters Mrs. Zoa Moorhouse and Mrs. Elizabeth Spear of Chicago and thirteen children as follows: Mrs. Delilah Fisher, Mrs. Viola Carr and Mrs. Zoa Ashford of Chicago; Mrs. Ethel Dunn of Wauconda; Mrs. Frieda Hans, Edison Park; Silas Jayne, Chicago Highlands and Frank, Lida, Grace, Catherine, Ilene and Genze [sic] of Chicago Highlands.
Mr. Jayne had been operating a riding academy in Lake Zurich for several years. He was a former farmer.
