Mr. Gilcrease, age 70, of Tioga, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Rapides Medical Center, Alexandria.
He was a native of Rock Hill, Louisiana. He was owner and operator of Gilcrease Electric. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a former Assistant Chief for Alpine Volunteer Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Audie Gilcrease; one son, Dennis Dale Gilcrease; three sisters, Jewell Glenn, Johnnie Mae Sloan, and Jocie Paige.
He is survived by two sons, Terry Gilcrease (Sherrie) of Pineville, Jackie E. Gilcrease (Janet) of Richmond, Virginia; one daughter, Brenda Bennett (Little John) of Libuse; two brothers, John Gilcrease, Jr. of Tioga, J. B. Gilcrease of Arkansas; three sisters, Joy Stoneking of Minden, Louisiana, Jessie Lee Barkdull of Texas, and Jerri Rose Stiller of Arizona; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Christian Challenge in memory of Mr. Gilcrease.
