Brewer Utah Kirkland, 85, of Fordland, a retired carpenter and World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born June 4, 1922, in Fordland, son of Bert and Alene Kirkland. He was of the Methodist faith, and was a graduate of Bakersfield, Mo., high school. Surviving are his sister, Wilma Glenn of Fordland, and nephew, Dan Glenn of Maine. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007, at the Fordland Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Howard Ridge Cemetery, Gainesville, Mo.
