Actress. Her career began when she was selected as one of the "WAMPAS Baby Stars" of 1931. She made her film debut in "Fanny Foley Herself" (1931) and was best remembered for her roles in "Les Miserables" (1935), "Curly Top" (1935) and "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955). A leading lady to character actress, she appeared in over 100 movies to include "Doctor Bull" (1933), "Imitation of Life" (1934), "Pride of the Navy" (1939), "Queen of Broadway" (1942), "Bush Pilot" (1947), "Sky Liner" (1949) and "The Night Walker" (1964). For television, she appeared on "Racket Squad", "Schlitz Playhouse of Stars", "77 Sunset Strip", Branded" and "Gallery of Horrors". She died of Pneumonia at age 55.
