In 1894 A. Dewey & Co. proprietors of the Merchant Mills at Marion, one of the finest milling plants of the entire state and had a daily capacity of one hundred barrels of flour, yet the demand more than equaled the supply. The business was located on East Bellville Street near the railroad tracks.
