Mary P. Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Richmond, was born in Wayne county, N.Y., December 24, 1824. She was one of a family of seven children, of whom only two survive her-Jennette Wolcott and Charles Richmond. She moved with her parents to York township, Steuben county, October 18, 1841.
She was united in marriage to Wm. Brooks, of Derbyshire, England, May 31, 1848. To them were born five children, but two of whom are living - Frank E. and Luretta. She has been a member of the M. E. church for over forty years. By her death her family is bereft of a loving wife and mother, her neighbors of a kind and sympathetic friend. We mourn not as those who have no hope, for our loss is her eternal gain.
