Bertha Hoggard, 90, a resident of Portsmouth, VA, went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2011. Bertha was born in Pawtucket, RI the daughter of the late Bertha and James Eaton. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Hoggard and her sisters, Olive Craun and Dorothy McCoy.
Mrs. Hoggard is survived by a son, Charles Sherman Hoggard and his wife, Donna, of Tarpon Springs, FL; 2 grandsons, Donald Hoggard of Tarpon Springs, FL and Charles S. Hoggard, Jr. of Little River, SC, 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordan Hoggard of Camden, NC and her brother, James Willard Eaton, Jr. of Machipongo, VA.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Febuary 12, in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynne Hundley, entombment was private in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Friday, Feb 11th at the funeral home.
