Shirley M. Barbaretta, 74, of Susquehanna Township, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Golden Living Center - Blue Ridge Mountain. Born November 10, 1936, in York, a daughter of the late George H. and Edna C. (Masonheimer [sic--correct is Masenheimer]) Sterner, she was retired from the PA Turnpike Commission. She was an avid quilter, and was a volunteer at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior, and at Polyclinic Hospital for more than 27 years. Mrs. Barbaretta is survived by a son, Mark R. Barbaretta and his wife, Marilyn of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Coral A. Barbaretta and Amber L. Hughes; a great-grandson, William H. Hughes; two brothers, Barry D. Sterner of Wellsville and Jerry L. Sterner of York; and three sisters, Jane E. Fissel and Patricia A. "Pat" Sullivan, both of York, and Fay E. Hale of Manchester. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York (the former Hahn Home), with Vicar David L. Bowman of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, York, officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011; or to The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 420 N.
