Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Team Executive. He was a team executive for the St. Louis Browns from 1913 to 1915, the St. Louis Cardinals from 1917 to 1942, the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1943 to 1950 and the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1950 to 1959. He was the first to institute minor leagues, and he integrated baseball with the signing of Jackie Robinson in 1947 to the Brooklyn Dodgers.
