Mr. William Smith Camp, 82, of Main Street, Sheffield, died Monday evening, February 28, 2011 at his home.

Born February 26, 1929 in Pittsfield, he was the son of Byron G. Camp and Grace Smith Camp.

He worked for Jones Motors driving truck for forty years. He enjoyed bowling, coin collecting and working on model trucks and cars. He was an avid golfer and spent hours sitting on the front porch at his house watching everyone drive by.

He is survived by his fiance Barbara Davidson of Sheffield; the couple was together for fifteen years. He also leaves his three daughters Linda Gunzinger and her husband Terry of Winslow, Maine, Donna Marie Camp Boiney and her husband Tom, and Karen Camp Zigmand and her companion Keith Amstead, all of Sheffield, his sister Bobbi Kerrone of Pittsfield, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-seven years, the former Lucille Fontaine, three sisters, and one brother.

A service celebrating the life of the late William Smith Camp will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Charles VanAusdall.
Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Valley Cemetery in Sheffield.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
