BARLOW, Ottie Mae Bonds, of Roanoke, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 1998. She was born in Bedford County on October 27, 1905, to the late Mary and Alex Bonds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter June Barlow Sr.; a daughter, Frances Marie Barlow, and a son, James Henry Barlow Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy of love two sons, Walter June (Ann) Barlow Jr. and Lawrence Barlow; three daughters, Esterline Barlow Mayo, Mary Jane Wilson and Dorothy (Lynn) Arrington Sr., all of Roanoke; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, 1998, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home, with Dr. J. Eugene Young officiating. The funeral cortege will leave from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Arrington Sr., 3747 Long Meadow, Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
