Robert Lee Richardson, 65, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on January 24, 1946, the son of the late Herman Richardson and Juanita Smith (Solomon, Richardson) Penn.

He leaves to treasure their memories, two sons, Joseph L. Richardson and Robert Barbour and one stepson, Franklin Richardson, all of Richmond, Virginia; nine grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Solomon Parrish of Charlottesville, VA; a niece, Andrea Parrish of Charlottesville; one uncle, Richard D. Smith of San Diego, California; and a devoted long-time companion, Sylvia Taylor of Charlottesville and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Crescent Halls, 500 South First Street, Charlottesville, Virginia, officiated by the Reverend Lester Smith.

The family was assisted by the J. F. Bell Funeral Home.

The family thanks the University of Virginia Medical Center 3rd and 4th Floor ICU staffs for the care given to Robert during his last days.
