Luella "Lu" (Wickman) Manteufel, 73, Allouez resident, passed away Friday morning May 1, 2009 at her home with her family by her side. Lu was born January 5, 1936 in Ellison Bay, WI to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Root) Wickman. She graduated from Green Bay East High School and married Elery "Al" Manteufel on August 17, 1956 in Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1999. Lu was employed in the food service division for the board of education in Green Bay until her retirement from East High School in 2001. She enjoyed riding mopeds in Door County, crocheting and gardening. Lu enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She is survived by three children: Wendy (Bill) Jolly, Lynne Manteufel and Michael (Sue) Manteufel, all of Green Bay. Four grandchildren: Kristy and Jason Jolly; Michael Jr. and Amanda Lu Manteufel. Three brothers: Darvin (Marilyn), Roy and Lyle (Ginny) Wickman, all of Green Bay; one sister, Janis (Lee) Dechamps, New Franken, many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Wickman Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. Monday after 4:00 pm until time of service. Funeral Service 7:30 pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev. David Hatch officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
