"The Lord is my Shepherdl I shall not want."" Psalm 23:1. Lucy Mary Kibby Crockett was a native of Molly, and a resident of Baton Rouge for many years. She was born May 1, 1922, and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at 9:30 p.m. at her home, surrounded by loving family and friends. "Muu Muu," as she was known to her family, was a much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by four sons, Clarence Joseph Crockett Jr. and wife Dorothy, Alton Crockett Sr. and Belva, Oakland, Calif., James Crockett Sr. and wife Cynthia, and Warren Crockett Sr. and wife Veronica; and three daughters, Velma Phillips and husband James, Minister Cheryl Crockett, and Rose Marie Carter. "Muu Muu" is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, Mildred Brown, Oakland, three former daughters-in-law whom she loved as daughters, Shirley Crockett, Denovas Crockett and Jo Ann Crockett, and other relatives and friends. "Muu Muu" was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Columbus Sr. and Darla Mitchell Kibby; husband, Clarence Joseph Crockett Sr.; two great-grandchildren, and all of her siblings. Visitation for "Muu Muu" will be Friday, March 4, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Highway. Visitation will continue at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3912 Gus Young Ave., on Saturday, March 5, from 8 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Vincent Alexius officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Crockett, Eric Harrington, Alton Crockett Jr., James Crockett Jr., Warren Crockett Jr., Kelvin Crockett and Jimmy Williams. The family is truly grateful to the medical professionals, church members, neighbors, friends, co-workers, and all the others who were so kind to us during our beloved Muu Muu's extended illness. May you be richly blessed. We wish special blessings for daughter, Cheryl, who made it possible for mother to live her final years in the peace and comfort of her own home, the home that she and dad built all those years ago, a home which has been a place of security and happiness for so many over the years. Arrangements by Hall Davis & Son Mortuary.
