Sallie was the daughter of Council Wooten and Mary Roach Shipp. Her family migrated to Pulaski Co., GA, by 1820 and then moved to Monroe Co., near Russellville. It was in Monroe Co. that she married Robert Sanders Anderson on Jan. 23, 1835. They had 13 children. She died of dropsey.
