She was born Nov. 15, 1901, in Russell County, Ky., the daughter of William Taylor and Laura Gentry Sullivan. She spent most of her life in Russell County, Ky., and came to the Westport area in 1973. She was a member of the Royville Friendship Church in Kentucky. On Jan. 20, 1917, she married Milton Bryan Atchley in Russell County, Ky., and he preceded her in death May 28, 1972.
She is survived by her stepmother, Sally Sullivan, Indianpolis; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Jean) Tichenor, R.R.2, Westport, Opal Gentry, R.R.2, Russell Springs, Ky. and Mrs. Guy (Alma) Eades, R.R.4, Stanford, Ky.; five sons, Chester and Dwayne Atchley, both of R.R.5, Greensburg, Millard Atchley, R.R.1, Westport, Emet Dale Atchley, R.R.2, Russell Springs, Ky., and Joseph Atchley, Fort Wayne, Ind.; one brother, Elbert Sullivan, Shelbyville, Ind.; two half brothers, Rufus and Curtis Sullivan, both of Russell Springs, Ky.; four half sister, Dorothy Kell, Louisville, Ky., Nina Rooks and Edith Hadley, both of Indianapolis, and Lavona Wade, Perry, Ohio; 31 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Wheat and Gusta Smith; and two brothers, Bert and Lester Sullivan.
The Rev. Jerry Ridge and the Rev. Hubert Wilson will conduct the services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Ky.
Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Bass and Gasper Funeral Home in Westport, and also from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Ky.
