Thelma C. Bruning, 82, died Jan. 20, 1990, in Medicalodge-South, 6501 Greeley Ave., Kansas City, Kan., where she lived. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kan. Mrs. Bruning managed Dixie Bar-B-Que in Kansas City, Kan., for 10 years before she retired in 1951. Previously she worked for the Loose-Wiles Biscuit Co., She was a member of the Stony Point Christian Church. Her husband, John Bruning died in 1976. Survivors include two sons, Claude Blair and Clyde Blair of Kansas City, Kan.; a brother, George B. Ross, Butler, Mo.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Chapel; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the capel. The family suggests contributions to the church.
