Alfred W. Brown, 82, St. Joseph, formerly of Kansas City, died Feb. 20, 1991, at a hospital in St. Joseph. He was born in Jameson, Mo., and lived in St. Joseph before moving to Oklahoma City in 1951. He moved to Kansas City in 1957 and returned to St. Joseph in 1965. Mr. Brown worked for Armour & Co. for 42 years, retiring as a sales manager in 1968. He was a member of the Savannah Avenue Baptist Church, St. Joseph. He was a member of the Zeredatha Masonic Lodge, Moila Shri ne and the Scottish Rite bodies, all in St. Joseph. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Esther D. Ritter Brown of the home; two daughters, Judith M. Williams, Overland Park, and Janice K. Cates, Shawnee; a sister, Mae E. Swain, Faribault, Minn.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman Chapel, St. Joseph; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel.
