Mrs. LuVerne Rector Barcus, 45 years old, wife of Elmer E. Barcus, 218 West Maple Avenue, died at her home, Thursday night at 9:45. She is survived by her husband, Elmer E. Barcus; two brothers, W.L. Rector of Burlington and John L. Rector of Ottumwa, and two nephews, Billy Rector of Burlington and James Briggs of Ottumwa. Mrs. Barcus was a member of the O.E.S. No. 112 and Myrah Rebekah lodge No. 41. She was born in Creston, October 23, 1887, the daughter of James and Carrie Rector. She came to Ottumwa in 1905. The body has been removed to the Johnson funeral chapel, pending the completion of funeral arrangements.

Short funeral services for Mrs. LuVerne Rector Barcus, who died at her home, 218 West Maple avenue, March 2, at 9:45 p.m. will be held Sunday afternoon from the residence at 2:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. from the First Lutheran church of which she was a member. The Rev. P.O. Bersell, D.D., will officiate. Burial will be made in the Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Lester Corbett, A.R. McAtee, William Buchanan, Wayne Groves, Walter McLain and Fred Bullock.
