Brooklet, Ga. - Mrs. Nellie Hill Jones Deal, age 89, died on Thursday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1936 graduate of Brooklet High School. Mrs. Deal was a bookkeeper for W.K. Jones Lumber Company and W.K. Jones Building Supply. Mrs. Deal was a founding member of the Brooklet First Baptist Church. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a great passion for fishing. She was a member of the Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.K. Jones; James Clinton Jones (infant son); and her daughter, Jacquita Jones Jenkins.
Surviving is her husband of 12 years, Dan Deal of Brooklet; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome K. and "Ginny" Jones Sr. of Brooklet, Jarell and Joy Jones of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Jeffrey H. and Carol Jones of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a stepson, Danny (Jackie) Deal of Ringgold, Ga.; grandchildren, Kem (Phoebe) Jones, Jim Jones, Dwayne (Patience) Jenkins, Michelle (Dan) Carrillo, Daphne Crosby, Natalie (Chris) Nubern, Thomas (Serena) Jenkins Jr., Jay Jones, Jeremy (Scarlett) Jones, Jessica (Per) Holtze, Julie Todd Meacham, Jordan Jones, Jennifer (Cody) Brown and Jamie Jones; 21 great-grandchildren, one step-grandson and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Brooklet Primitive Baptist Church with Elder W.H. Durrence, Elder Lavonne Anderson and the Rev. Wes Moye officiating. Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery.
