Elias Leon, 65, of Lakeside died Aug. 25.

He was born in Globe, Ariz., and was a custodian for the Santee School District. Mr. Leon served in the Navy. He was a member of the Military Order of the Cooties and the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jane Leon; sons, Michael and Marc Leon of Ramona, Joseph Leon of San Diego and Jon Leon of Lakeside; stepdaughters, Janie Carroll of Ferrelview, Mo., and Edith Webster of Riverside, Mo.; stepsons, John W. Caviness and J. Calvin Gore, both of Poteau, Okla., J. Tracy Gore of Missouri and J. Larry Caviness of Michigan; sisters, Eva Sanchez of Phoenix, Elisa Bryan of Globe, Ariz. and Bertha Franklin of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Benjamin Leon of Phoenix and Gunner Leon and Jake Leon, both of Lakeside; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. today, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma.
Internment: Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
Arrangements: Lakeside-Santee Funeral Chapel.
