Actor. He was born in Leeds and educated at Leeds College of Art. He joined an amateur dramatic company and later worked in several repertory theaters in
England. In 1975 he joined the prestigeous Royal Shakespeare Company, where he stayed for nine years. His breakthrough role came in the BBC drama serial
"Edge of Darkness"(1985). The acclaimed performance gave Bob Peck a BAFTA TV award in 1986. He followed it with a number of other television roles, including: "After Pilkington"(1987), "Storyteller"(1988), "One way out"
(1989), "Children crossing"(1990), "The war that never ends"(1991), "The black velvet gown"(1991), "Natural lies"(1992), "Hard times"(1994), "The merchant of Venice"(1996) and "The scold´s bridle(1998). Peck´s notable film roles were: "On the black hill" (1987), "Slipstream"(1989), "Ladder of swords"(1989),
"Lord of the flies"( 1990), "Jurassic Park"(1993), "Surviving Picasso"(1996), "Smilla's sense of snow"(1997) and "Fairytale: A true story"(1997). He was very respected and admired by his colleagues for his talent and professionalism. Bob Peck died inLondon of cancer, a disease he had been fighting forseveral years. He was 53.
