Junius "June" Joseph Authement died at 9:30 AM Saturday.

Mr. Authement was the founder and owner of the Sea Breeze Restaurant in Houma from 1929 until 1963 and the Sea Breeze Hotel from 1938 until 1967.

A pioneer Houma businessman, Authement was responsible for renting the first oil
crew boats, placing the first glass storage-front windows in his buildings on
Main Street and bringing the first chain stores to Houma by renting his stores to other businesses.

He was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Church at its inception and served on the building committee for the St. Francis Sister's Home. Later, he became an active member of St. Gregory Catholic Church. Authement was a member
of the Terrebonne Sportsman League and the Krews of Terreanean and Christopher.

Funeral services at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church and burial in St.
Francis Cem. #1

Survived by his wife, Louise Hebert Authement; three sons, Norman, Douglas and
John Authement; one daughter, Mrs Daniel (Barbara) Bennett of Miami, Fla; three
brothers, Louis, Alvin and Andrew Authement; one sister, Hazel Bergeron.

Preceded in death by his parents, Gustave and Modeste Rhodes Authement and one brother, Horace Authement.
