Mrs. Chloe Barnes was born in the state of New York, April 28, 1843, was married to Joe Barnes in 1872.
She was converted in early life and joined the United Brethren Church in Pennsylvania of which she was a member over 60 years. After leaving Pennsylvania they came to Kentucky and made their home at Murl, having lived there 38 years. Her husband died a few years ago. She has since longed for the time for her time to also come to leave this old world.
She was a good woman and we all miss her. In her home and in our community she was a kind, fond mother and a faithful wife.
After funeral services conducted by Bro. J.S. Sloan, we laid her to rest in the Beck Cemetery.
