Mrs. Vivian Rigsby Demerson was born to the late Eddie B. Rigsby on March 22, 1922 in Grimes County. She was united in marriage to Mr. Virge Demerson, who preceded her in death.

For many years she was an active member of the Greater Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church (Houston, Texas). Upon returning to Huntsville, she returned to her home Church St. James United Methodist Church and currently Mrs. Demerson was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Demerson attended public school in Grimes County and Huntsville, Texas. She had a great love for children. Mrs. Demerson shared her love and touched the lives of many children and their families. She was also a member of the Pride of LaMarque Court of Calanthe # 457.

Mrs. Demerson was a very kind, cheerful, and loving person. One of her favorite Biblical scripture was" In All Thy Ways Acknowledge Him and he will direct thy path, Proverbs 3:6. " Thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet". Proverbs 3:24

On Wednesday morning at 2:00 a. m. November 20, 2002 Mrs. Demerson was called home to be with the Lord. She went to sleep in the quiet peace of Jesus Christ.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one sister, Opal Rigsby Mills of Huntsville, Texas; two brothers, Edward & Mary Rigsby of Houston, Texas, Olan & Daisy Rigsby of Houston, Texas; one aunt Mattie Jewel Thomas of Huntsville, Texas; seven nieces, Vanetta Mills, Ester Williams, and Thelma Thomas; six nephews, Todd Davis, James Allen Rigsby, Joe Rufus Davis, Rick Rigsby, Robert Rigsby, and Macie Dean Rigsby; two sisters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Demerson was preceded in death by two sisters; Miriam Rigsby Davis and Eunice Rigsby; two brothers, Roger Rigsby and Macie Rigsby.
