Mabel Bryden, 87, of 208 Ferry St., Sparland, died Friday (March 8, 1991) at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.

Born Oct. 14, 1903, in Chillicothe to George and Maude Powers McLaughlin, she married Frank R. Bryden on May 2, 1931, in Chillicothe. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, William of Sparland; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Myres of Trivoli; a brother, George McLaughlin of Chillicothe; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Alta) Decker of Lisle and Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Lump of Peoria.

She and her husband owned and operated Bryden's Service Station & Garage and Bryden's Bus Service, both in Sparland.

Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in rural Chillicothe.
