Kevin Brian Muhs died at University Hospital in Iowa City three days after falling head first into a wagon full of corn. Kevin was unloading the corn into a bin on his mother's farm when he apparently slipped from the top of a wagon and fell into the grain. He was not breathing when he was pulled out of the grain by firefighters.

It is not known how long he had been in the grain before a family member discovered him. Firefighters said Kevin was so submerged that all that could be seen of him were his feet. They administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but could not restore his breathing. He was rushed to Osteopathic Hospital, where after treatment, he began breathing on his own. He was later transported to University Hospital where he remained in critical condition until his death.

Kevin was a 1982 graduate of North Scott High School, Eldridge, Iowa and was employed by the Four Winds Recreational Products, Inc.
