A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mattie Humphries Gant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ashe, who died in 1987; several brothers; a sister, a son, Tommy Ashe, and a granddaughter, Angela Renee Schrader. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Ruby enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and traveling.
She is survived by three sons, two daughters, a brother, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery. The
