She was a teacher in Georgia for 43 years. She was the founder and president for more than 30 years of the Keenage Club. She was an officer for Georgia Education Association and a past officer and charter member of Georgia Retired Teachers Association. She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Educators Society and was the president of the Brooklet Garden Club. Mrs. Ethel's most valuable asset was her beloved husband, Mr. Hamp Smith, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Hamp Smith of Brooklet; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Brooklet First Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters, Elder Emory Proctor and Rev. Doug McCart officiating. Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery. Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home.

When Earth's last picture is painted.
And the tubes are twisted and dried.

And the youngest critic has died.
