Services for Mildred E. "Millie" Abraham, 71, Smiths Mill, who died on her 47th wedding anniversary, Thursday, Feb. 12, 1987, at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca, were 10 a.m. Saturday at the Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville, the Rev. Janice Martineau of the Waterville Methodist Church officiated. Spring burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Elysian.
Visitation was 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until services at the Arnoldt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Abraham was born in Janesville, April 21, 1915, to William and Bertha (Bates) Marsh. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1933, and was employed as a housekeeper in the area, and also worked at the Waseca Canning Co. (now Birdseye Division of General Foods) in Waseca for several years. She married Wayne L. Abraham of Janesville, Feb. 12, 1940, at Waseca. A lifelong resident of the Janesville area, she also worked for about five years at the E. F. Johnson Co. in Waseca.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Wendall of Garden City, Wade and his wife, Sandy, of Waterville, and Wilbert and Wayne Jr. of Janesville; a former daughter in law, Peggy Abraham; two sisters, Dorothy Dzioba of Richmond, Ky., and Winifred Buttruff of Byron; nine grandchildren; and a great grandson.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, two sisters and two brothers.
