Peggy J. Carlson, Galesburg Chapel 81, of Galesburg, died at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 in the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born February 17, 1930 in Kewanee, Ill., the daughter of Clarence and Eva Crain Jaggers. She married Carl Logan Carlson on June 28, 1947 in Galva, Ill. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1993.
She is survived by a son, Robert Steven Carlson of Galesburg, a daughter, Holly Carlene (and Harry) Sandry of Galesburg, a granddaughter, Stephanie Carlson of Galesburg and a grandson, Chris Carlson of Peoria, Ill.
Peggy was a homemaker, an avid reader, enjoyed trivia, crossword puzzles, growing houseplants, and visiting with friends. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Tom Larsen will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Public Library Foundation or Knox County Nursing Home. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
