David enlisted in the US Marines 31 January 1968, at the New Haven Recruiting Office in CT.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 26 July 1968 David was assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
David died from a gunshot wound to the body, during an engagement against hostile forces in the
vicinity of Dong Tien(2) and 6 kilometers west northwest of Dien Ban while participating in Operation Meade River.
Survived by his mother, Mary A Jalbert of Wakefield, Rhode Island and his sister, Kathleen M Carr of Charlestown, Rhode Island.
His father Honore J Jalbert was deceased.
