Obituary

Sidney Carl Aaron, 78, of Phil Campbell, Ala., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his residence.

Mr. Aaron moved to Franklin County from Tuscumbia, Ala., in May 1970. He was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ, Ninth Avenue Church of Christ, Union Church of Christ and North Highlands Church of Christ, Russellville. Carl was active in church, serving as a Bible class teacher for many years and as an elder at the Union congregation. He was truly a student of the Bible.

He was a staff sergeant in the Army and retired from the Alabama State Health Department, where he was an environmentalist over food sanitation. After retiring, he was active in the Republican Party in Franklin County, working hard for GOP candidates. Carl was the first president of the Phil Campbell Little League.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel, Russellville, with James Phillips and Keith Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Barton Cemetery, Cherokee, Ala. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his sons, Douglas Carl Aaron, of Phil Campbell, Ala., and Timothy Alan Aaron, of Russellville, Ala.; grandchildren, Zachary Blake Aaron, of Florence, Ala., Hilary Jean Aaron, of Russell-ville, Ala., Mary Katherine Aaron, of Russellville, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Jean Barnes Aaron.
