HAMPTON - Alvin "Stone" Lymon, son of the late Verna and Cary Lymon, was born on July 22, 1950 in Montgomery, Ala. He was the youngest of three sons. Alvin was educated in the Hampton City School System. He served in the United States Army, and was later employed by R.A. Green Masonry, where he was employed for 20 years. He was also a member of Faith Deliverance Charismatic Church of God in Christ, where he taught Sunday school.
Alvin departed this life on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Lymon; and son, Kerry Lymon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Verna and Erica Lymon, Shaunda Mock and her husband, Maurice, Warren Keith Lymon and Eric Cosby and his wife, Yolanda; brother, Willie J. Lymon; special cousin, Betty Matthews and her husband, Henry; 12 grandchildren; special friends, Ron, Jimmy and Bonita; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and close friends.
Viewing and visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the funeral home chapel, by Elder Dan Freeman. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery in Suffolk.
