-DAVIS FUNERAL HERE-

Funeral services for Miss Marcella Marie Davis, 52, who died Friday, will be at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Hathaway Funeral Home.

Miss Davis, a former resident of Columbus, died at the St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, California. She had lived in Stockton, California, since 1945 and recently had been staying in North Hollywood with a sister.

Rites will be conducted by Dr. William R. Laws. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Persons may call after 7 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born in Jeffersonville, February 17, 1915, Miss Davis was the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Mary Dean Davis. She was graduated from Columbus High School in 1933 and from that time until 1941 worked in Louisville, Kentucky, where she played semi-professional softball and basketball. In 1941, Miss Davis joined the Women's Army Corps for four years. Following her discharge in 1945 she moved to California where she was secretary for the AFL-CIO fruit growers union. She was also past commander of the American Legion, in Stockton.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Sims of 1614 Forrest Drive, Mrs. William Ballard of North Hollywood, California, and Mrs. Paul H. Voelz of 1517 Sycamoree Street.
