Valorie passed away peacefully at her home in Oceanside, CA. She was born to Ruth and John Chavez in Blackfoot Idaho and was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Valorie was an exceptional beauty inside and out. She could disarm with a smile, charm with a word and nurture with a gesture. She always saw the best in people and was never discouraged when someone let her down. Her hugs were like medicine for anything and everything; she never refused to share her love or anything she had to give. Valorie will be fondly remembered by her loving siblings Leroy Chavez, Joseph Chavez, Michael Sanchez, Tony Sanchez, Deeann Speer, and Della Chavez. Her beloved children Leo Duran, Nicole Chavez-Martinez, Sonia Martinez, Robert Hinojosa, Frankie Hinojosa, Tracy Hinojosa, and Lynette Hinojosa. As well as her 13 treasured grandchildren, along with countless other family and friends. Valorie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Johnny Chavez, sister Louise Sanchez, and grandson Leo Manuel Duran. Many were blessed to know Valorie. She will be truly missed. Valorie's memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 19, 2011 at the Rose Park 6th Ward, 760 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
