In his earlier years Houston attended Tatums School and graduated in 1955.
On Monday, January 31, 2011, God sent one of His angels down tp pick another solider.
Houston knew early in life he was an ontroprenour. During his lifetime he owned several body repair shops and a restaurant by the name of "Captain's Pier" in Tatums. Family was always a top priority in Houston's life and he showed his love by bringing people together and having fun. He was always the life of the party.
He was known by many as the favorite uncle. Houston loved Tatums and loved hanging out at home under the tree playing the blues, with a cold beer in hand. Houston has a passion for working on various projects with his big brother Cecil in Tatum, from climbing on a roof to working on a car.
He wed his best friend Madeliene Recce and together they had five children and one daughter before this union.
Houston was a true family man. He loved his brthers and sister dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 46 years, brother Virlee Jones and Clarence Jones, Jr.
He leaves to cheris his memory; sons: Gerald Wayne Jones, of Irving, TX; Houston Jones, Jr (Barbie), of Irving, TX; daughters: Shelia Jones, of Guthrie, OK, Kimberly Burks (Tyrone), Rowlett, TC; Shirley Jones (Lawrence), of McKinney, TX and Quincy Jones, of Oklahoma City, OK. His twelve beloved grandchildren and one great grandson. Brother: Cecil Jones, of Tatum, OK; sisters: Nina Mae king, of Kansas City, MO and Billie Carol Hardeman of Minneapolis, MN. A special friend Annie Marie Whetstone of Mesquite, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
