Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker, a children's Sunday school and Bible school teacher at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, a member of the U.S.F.W. afternoon Missionary Circle and secretary and treasurer of the Holly Spring Memorial Association.
Surviving are husband, Elmer S. Allen of the home; sons, Melvin Allen of Asheboro, Wayne T. Allen of Ramseur; daughters, Nancy Edinger of Hartsville, S.C.; brother, W.L. "Bill" Brown Jr. of Asheboro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the residence.
