Mary Alderman, age 96, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born May 15, 1914, at North Fork Anthony Creek, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Bertha Buchannon Ryder.

Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Alderman; three sister, Dorie Blume, Helen Shinaberry and Violet Smith; and five brothers, Clyde Ryder, Ottis Ryder, Otis Ryder, Graten Ryder and Corbet Ryder.

She is survived by three sons, Perry Ryder, and wife, Joyce, Larry Alderman, and wife, Sherri, and Daris Alderman, and wife, Sandy, all of Marlinton; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 11, from 6 -9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday, February 12, 11 a.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating. Interment will be in Alderman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Huntersville First Baptist Church.
