12/28/16: According to Cheryl Ayres: The Elizabeth Johnson is listed as mother of Andrew Adkins. Alafair was the daughter of Francis Marion Johnson & Spicy Adkins. Alafair is living with her grandparents Merritt & Rhoda Johnson on the 1880 Cabell Co. Census. Death certificate is wrong on birth year, it should be 1871. Francis Marion & Spicy are on the 1870 Cabell Co. census with his parents, this census was enumerated in July,1870. Alafair was not born yet.

F. M. Johnson was born in Cabell county in 1847 and married Emma McComas, who was born in Cabell County in 1857. Their marriage was solemnized in Lincoln County, November 12, 1880, and their two children are M. W., born January 9, 1882 and Walter, February 18, 1883. The first marriage of Mr. Johnson was with Spicy Adkins, who died, leaving him one child, Alafair, born March 10, 1871. Merrit and Rhoda (Adkins) Johnson are the parents of F. M. They made their home in Lincoln County in 1882. His wife is a daughter of T. J.and Catharine (McComas) McComas, who were born and raised in what is now Lincoln County. In 1874 F. M. Johnson came to Lincoln County, a man of energy and ability he soon established in a large mercantile business. His store is on Guyan River, but he is now riding as deputy sheriff of Lincoln. His postoffice address is Falls Mills, Lincoln County, West Virginia.

As of Feb 2011 I did not find any records for General Johnson. Elizabeth was living with her daughter and son-in-law on a 1930 census record in McComas, Cabell, WV.
Alafair married Andrew G. Adkins about 1887. As of Feb 2011 I did not find a marriage record but, parents are confirmed in children birth, marriage and death records as well as census records.
Andrew b. about 1869 in Lincoln County, WV. & d. unknown was a S/O John Calvin (Calvert) Adkins b. about 1821 in VA. & d. 24 Sep 1880 in Lincoln County, WV. and Nancy Tooley b. Apr 1824 in VA. & d. about 1907 in Lincoln County, WV.
