Frances Tedesco Lathrop, retired kindergarten teacher, died January 19, 2011, in Oklahoma City. She was 78. She was the daughter of Anthony Phil-ip Tedesco and his wife, Fran-cesca Te-desco. Fran Lathrop was graduated from Wheelock College, Boston, MA, in 1954 and earned her Master's Degree in Education in 1981. Fran received the Perry Teacher of the Year Award in 1981. She was a devoted member of All Souls' Episcopal Church, a member of the Supper Club, an office volunteer and involved with Stephen Ministry as a caregiver for many years. She was a member of the Junior League, Delta Kappa Gamma and the American Association of University Women. Fran is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Holman Lathrop; and survived by her brother, Philip Stratton Tedesco of Palm Springs, CA; daughter, Frances Pamela Shelton; son, Anthony Philip Lathrop, his wife Susan; two grandchildren, Francesca Ruth Shelton and James Russell Shelton; and many grandpets. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, at 11 a.m., at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania, Nichols Hills, with interment following in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to: Animal Rescue Friends (ARF), 1009 NW 75th Street, Nichols Hills, OK 73116.
