Mark W. Gronewold, 63, of East Peoria, Ill., died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
Born on Jan. 30, 1948, in Bowen, Ill., to Wilke C. and Fannie B. Saathoff Gronewold, he married Vicky Eggman on Dec. 26, 1971, in Golden, Ill. She survives.
Mark was preceded in death by his father.
He was a U.S. Army veteran from Jan. 4, 1968, to Dec. 14, 1969, serving in Vietnam.
Mark worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. as a machinist in building KK and HH for 35 years, retiring in 2001.
He also was a committee member for Boy Scouts Troop 163 in Washington, Ill., for 18 years.
