MARGARITO ALANIZ SR.
LA JOYA - Margarito Alaniz Sr., 58, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Alaniz was born in La Joya, Texas on August 23, 1952 to Victor and Evangelina Alaniz. He was preceded in death by his loving parents; his son, Margarito "Nune" Alaniz Jr.; grandson, Daven James Alaniz, and a sister Olga Alaniz. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Olga Alaniz; his son, Daniel Alaniz, and his daughters, Zonia (Orlando) Saenz and Denyse Alaniz. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Victor Alaniz, David Alaniz, Frank Arnold Alaniz; and one sister, Delfina Vasquez. Visitation will take place Monday, February 7, 2011 from 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday Feb. 8, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at L&I Memorial Chapel in Peñitas. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in La Joya. Burial will follow at Havana City Cemetery in Havana.
