Fond du Lac Daily Commonwealth, Sat. Oct. 30, 1926, p. 16:3, AGED RESIDENT OF CITY EXPIRES. Mrs. Barbara Schmitz, Resident Here 50 Years, Dies At Daughter's Home. Mrs. Barbara Schmitz, widow of Jacob Schmitz, age 71, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.L. Erke, 40 West Scott street, at 9 p.m. Friday of a lingering illness. She was born in the Town of Forest on Feb. 1, 1855, and had been a resident of this city for 50 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.L. Erke of this city and Mrs. Katherine Giese of Milwaukee, two brothers, Frank and Nick Walgenbach of the Town of Fond du Lac, two sisters, Sister M. Francisco of San Antonio, Tex., and Sister Rosebia of Notre Dame convent, Milwaukee, 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral arrangements will be announced Monday.

Fond du Lac Daily Commonwealth, Mon. Nov. 1, 1926, p. 20:3. The funeral of Mrs. Barbara Schmitz, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.L. Erke, 40 West Scott street, Friday, will be held from the residence at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 9 a.m. from St. Mary's church. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery.
