Mr. Shirk was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was retired from Keesler Air Force Base as an Air Conditioner Technician with Civil Service. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #606 in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Shirk.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna King of Ocean Springs; a son, Darryl Shirk of Biloxi; a sister, Dorothy Shirk; a brother, Laird Shirk, both of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi with recitation of the rosary at 7 P.M. A service will be at 10 A.M. Monday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Southern Memorial Park.
