G. R. Barnes, 90. died Nov. 8 at Bonnell
Home in Greeley, Colo.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 13, and
burial was made in Lynn Grove Cemetery at
Greeley.
He was married to Nellie Kilpatrick of this
(Griswold, Iowa) vicinity Oct. 2, 1914. There
were no children.
As a young man he was employed in the old
C. W. West store in Griswold and followed the
dry goods business all his life. For several years
prior to his move to Colorado, he managed the
J. C. Penney Store at Spencer (Iowa).
He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie,
sisters Gertie Barnes and Goldie Cable, and
brothers Gordon and Kneedy.
Nieces, nephews and cousins are the only
survivors.
