Huey P. Childs
Funeral for Mr. Huey P. Childs, 73, was to be at 10:30 a.m. today, Oct. 4, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Minden. The Rev. Floyd Stratton was to officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
He died Monday, Oct. 1, in Minden.
Mr. Childs was a native of Evergreen Community and a resident of Minden. A retired contractor, he was named Builder of the Year in 1965. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Childs of Bedford, Texas; sons Wayne Childs and wife Linda of Elm Grove, Jay Childs and wife Beth of Midlothian, Texas, Michael Childs and wife Stephani of Alto, Texas and Todd Childs of Bedford; daughters, Wanda Childs of Shreveport and Becky Emerson and husband David G. of Benton; a sister, Thelma Hodges of Minden; 14 grandchilddren; 10 great-grandchldren; and a host of friends.
