Daughter of Arthur & Margaret (Hawthorne) Connely. Never married.

Miss Lucy Connely, aged 82, died Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her brother, Arthur Connely. She had been in ill health for several months but only seriously ill a few weeks.
She was born in Newport, Kentucky on December 25, 1859, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret Hawthorne Connely. When quite sall, she came with her parents to Missouri where they located north of Shelbina.
After a number of years spent in farming, the family moved to Shelbina, where they operated the Waverly Hotel for several years. Miss Connely also worked as a clerk in the dry goods store of Minter and Smith in Shelbina for many years.
After the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Art Connely, she went to liv with her brother, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are a brother, Arthur Connely, and numerous nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Mrs. Ida Miles, Mrs. Olive Smith, and Miss Minnie Connely; two half-brothers, Bush and Cash Connely; and a half sister, Mrs. Julia Roff, all preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Shelbina Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. F. L. Kelly. Burial was in the Shelbina Cemetery.
