Services for Elton Brimberry, 86, of Grapeland were at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Christian Church with the Rev. Vance Drum officiating. Burial followed in Davis Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland. Mr. Brimberry died Wednesday at Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston. He was born May 30, 1917 in Houston County to Ben and Beulah Owens Brimberry. Mr. Brimberry was a builder. He graduated from Grapeland High School, and Sam Houston State University. He was a member of the Home Builders Association, Rotary Club, past president of Sam Houston University Alumnus, past member of the Executive Board of Northwest Bank & Trust, and past member of Fox Hunter Association. He was a member of Sunset Christian Church, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Brimberry was preceded in death by his two wives, Norma Rich Brimberry and Sara Kegler Brimberry; and two brothers, Benny Frank Brimberry and Arnold Brimberry. He is survived by daughter, Cherry Williams of Friendswood; stepdaughters, Sara Thurston of New Jersey, Sandra Scott of Huntsville, and Suzette Kegler of Madisonville; son, Richard Brimberry of Navasota; sisters, Melba Story of Grapeland, Wanda Winter of St. Louis, Mo., Neva Williams of Bellaire, and Jo Brimberry of Katy; brother, Oather Brimberry of Grapeland; and seven grandchildren
